JESUS CHRIST IS THE SAME JESUS

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever! Hebrews 13:8
This, my friend, means that the same Jesus that forgave the whorish woman of all of her sins in Luke 7 still will forgive the most vile sinner today, if they will only ask Him to with a sincere heart. It also means that the same Jesus who healed the woman that had been disease with an issue of blood for twelve years, found in Mark chapter 9, and disease that no doctor could cure, still heals every disease thought incurable by medical science in 2012. The person needing healing must only believe, and reach out to touch Jesus by their faith, just the same as she did. This same Jesus who provided the money supernaturally for His disciples to pay the government their taxes still provides supernatural money to His disciples to day who serve Him. Jesus Christ is still the same today as He was yesterday, and will be the same forever. The same Jesus who walked upon the shores of the Lake of Galilee, healing all who were sick and afflicted, still exercises the same glorious healing ministry today. The same Jesus who cast the demon out of the woman's daughter in Matthew Chapter 15 will set your child free in 2012 just the same, if you will exercise the same earnest faith for your child or children that this woman did for hers. She refused to be denied. So the compassionate Lord granted her the petition she requested. He will do the same thing for you. You must believe that Jesus is for you. He is not against you. He suffered and bled and died upon the cross for your sins. And if He is for you, who can be against you. You are more than a conqueror through Him that loves you. But you must believe that this Jesus who was crucified for your sins rose again, and now ever lives to make intercession for you. Jesus is not dead! He is alive forever more! And He is the same yesterday, today, and forever! And He loves you very much. Will you open up your heart and receive the miracle that He has for you--and not for you alone, but for everyone who will believe? Tomorrow morning I will be ministering the word of God at 209 Main St., Destin, Fl, at the Miracle Prayer Center. Please come and receive what the Lord has for you. Exercise your faith by coming, and show God that you believe His word, and allow Him to bless you, to change you, and to help you in every situation. That is what Jesus has come to do. But we must have faith, because without faith it is impossible to please Him. He has made it very simple for us to receive. We must make the decision, though, to believe! May God bless you very much spiritually, physically, and financially as you put your faith in Him. His word says for us to cast out cares upon Him, for He cares for us! (1 Peter 5:7)
We are living in the very last days. Won't you come and give your life in helping us to reach souls for Christ with the power of the gospel that is very effective in changing lives? I hope to see you in the morning with a car load of people seeking after an encounter with this Jesus who is the same yesterday, today, and forever!

WHO SAID YOU CAN’T GO TO HEAVEN
One thing for sure, it wasn’t Almighty God. Did you know Jesus came to save sinners? We’ve all sinned and fallen short of His Glory but that can change in a few minutes. God requires us to become born again and it’s not complicated at all. He said He made the Gospel [Good News] simple to confound the wise. Now if you’re wise, this may be more difficult for you but definitely not impossible.
Jesus died on a cross at the command of His Father, Almighty God. Why, for He loves everyone and wants all of us to repent [turn away from sinning] and to receive Jesus into our hearts so He can adopt us into His family. God allowed Roman soldiers to whip Jesus with a terrible whip called a scourge that nearly killed Him before He died upon the cross. The wounds from the beating give us a place to look when we need healing in our bodies. He said, “By His stripes are you healed.” When Jesus died every sin, sickness and disease was upon His body. All God requires is we believe it.
Salvation faith isn’t common or ordinary instead it requires much more from us. God wants us to die to our will first and this is really difficult for some. Jesus is Lord which means the One who is God Emmanuel [or with us]. He isn’t someone whom we can argue with but the One whom we obey as we live daily in His care. To make it possible He’s given to us His Own Holy Spirit inside us. As we live in Him the things we read of Jesus doing in the Bible, we will do. I’ve seen the mighty works of God and in some cases been involved in them.
Will you surrender to Jesus today? There isn’t a single “good” reason not to for you were born to live eternally with Him. He tells us only a few will be saved. The fact you’ve read this far is proof to me you are one who can become a child of God. Please turn from all religion for it’s not of Him. Relationship is of Him and He wants you to have it so you can become a trusted and valuable servant for Him. Don’t turn Him down for if you do He can’t save you. The decision is always ours. He made His decision for you the same day you were conceived in your mom.
Right then He said, “I love you and I’m giving you gifts, talents and abilities which no one can take away from you. To prove they are from Me, I’m giving you finger prints that are yours alone.”
“Don’t doubt me for a second, look around and see my handiwork. I created it all for you to enjoy. Look up and see the Heavens above for this is where your future lies. The earth upon which you stand will be removed by a terrible fire. Everything on it will be destroyed not one thing will survive. In its place I’m going to recreate it in perfection. Then I’m going to lower down the great city, The New Jerusalem. You and I will live in it with all those who love Me. My city is 1500 miles cubed with streets of pure gold.”
“Your new body is already prepared for you and it is perfect and beautiful too. You will never hunger, thirst or suffer pain with Me. I will be all you need forever. Today is the day of salvation, please don’t refuse my offer. I paid a huge price for you by allowing my Son Jesus to die in your place. Understand His death was important for then I could raise Him back to life. His resurrection will be yours as you receive Him into your life. Many millions have before you and millions will afterwards. I want you to be My child today.”

TESTIMONY OF TERRY HOWLETT

Dear Ben,

I enjoyed our brief fellowship last Friday at John and Betty Moore's in Destin. I really appreciate your book, "OLD DESTIN Through the Eyes of A Child." Three of us have read it since last Friday. My mother in Virginia wants me to send it to her as soon as possible. She and Dad loved meeting you at St Andrews many years ago.

As promised, here is a brief testimony for your blog:

On a beautiful Saturday afternoon Nov 1st, 2003, I found myself laying in a ditch beside a highway near Tyler, TX in excruciating pain and bleeding to death. I had been on a long distance bicycle ride and was struck by a speeding truck. As my life blood flowed out the main artery in my thigh, a nurse stopped and began treating me for shock. She was shouting, "Terry! Stay with us!" I thought to myself, "Do I have a choice?"

At the opposite end of my excruciating pain from compound fractures to my arm, leg and ankle, I was enjoying the most wonderful presence of Lord Jesus. I was thinking, "so this is the way my life is going to end...this is REALLY going to be GOOD!" Why no fear of dying? "There is no fear in love; but (His) perfect love casts out fear." 1 John 4:18

Let's go back a few years. On May 19, 1966, I attended a Billy Graham event where I was presented God's message of his love for me in sending His only Son, Jesus, to die for me so I could have eternal life with Him. The message was, and is, very simple: God loves us, we have a problem (sin), Christ Jesus died on the cross for us, and we ask Him to forgive us for our sin-problem and come into our heart. I was instantly new-born, and you can be too! Don't miss Him!!! "He who has the Son has the Life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the Life." 1 John 5:12

I could go on and on about my life since 1966, however, I must mention the four years, 1974-1978, I was stationed at Hurlburt Field, FL, and attended St. Andrews in Destin. There I met a mighty man of God, Captain Ben Marler, a fishing boat captain who loved Jesus as much as I did. Ben understood the urgency of getting the simple Gospel of God to as many people as possible by any means possible.

I joined Ben Marler and a small group of Christians from St. Andrews who met weekly at his house to study and seek the Lord in how to be an evangelist. I remember Ben describing how the Gospel is the medicine that cures death in humanity. Imagine being in a hospital where everybody was dying of a disease, and we had the medicine that would cure them. However, we just went from person to person doing good deeds to help them feel better, but we wouldn't share the cure. How selfish!

I continued through the years with that urgency to bring the Good News of Jesus Christ to everyone who would listen. I married a young school teacher, Nina Long, from Ft Walton Beach in 1976, and was soon assigned to Hellenikon Air Base in Athens Greece. There we worked with the founders and pioneers of Mercy Ships as they acquired the MV Anastasis. This was the most comprehensive way we had ever known to get the Gospel to people. This hospital ship ministry offered the two hands of the Gospel. Mercy Ships offers one hand to meet peoples physical, felt needs which opens the door of their hearts to receive eternal life through the love of God through Christ Jesus.

As I began to consider what to do in retirement, after 24 years in the US Air Force, I had many great job opportunities. However, one Sunday in our church in Montgomery, AL I announced that I agreed with Isaiah in answering God's call, "Here am I, send me." The next day I received an email from Don Stephens, Mercy Ships founder and president, asking us to come to East TX to be Director International Plans for Mercy Ships. Through the years with Mercy Ships, I was able to serve the Lord in ways that exceeded all my imagination.

Therefore, as I lay in the ditch bleeding to death, I was content to go on to eternity with Jesus as I considered the nurse's scream, "Terry, stay with us!" I had just returned from leading a Mercy Ships team to Central America where many received Christ as Savior through our ministry with the Jesus Film. A new church was starting in a hard-to-reach community in Belize. I had recently signed my will, and that morning I had paid all our bills. I was ready to go to Heaven!!!

However my wife, Nina, arrived on the scene before the medical helicopter took off. She laid hands on my head and prayed that I would live. She is a mighty woman of faith, and then I knew I would live. However, it would have been easier to die. After surviving hours of surgery, days of intensive care, weeks of hospital, and months of therapy, God had given me a testimony of hope and healing. God's love has made me fearless, even of death. My faith in the Lord Jesus Christ is stronger than ever.

Pacheco Pyle from Mercy Ships brought me the Bible on cassette tapes to listen to while recovering in the hospital. I could not tolerate television while in pain. Only God's Truth would satisfy my soul. "Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of Christ." Rom 10:17.

I know that a faith that has been tested is a faith that can be trusted. 1st Peter 1:6- says, "In this you greatly rejoice, even though now for a little while you have been distressed by various trials, that the proof of your faith, being more precious than gold which is perishable, even though tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ...you greatly rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory."

Of course I continue to fall short of His best. I fall short as a husband, a father, and as a Christian worker. But don't look at me! Look at the Lord Jesus Christ. He never fails. You can rest your life on His promises. He never disappoints. He loves you and me, and His grace is sufficient for however we fall short. If you don't have the faith to believe it, read His Word, and get the Truth. I pray 2nd Timothy 2:25, 26 for you that He would "grant you 'repentance' leading to the knowledge of the Truth, and that you may come to your senses and escape the snare of the devil."

On that beautiful Saturday afternoon Nov 1st, 2003, I left home for a two hour bicycle ride. I didn't come home for six weeks. I almost didn't come home at all. Life is shorter than you might think. Don't gamble and miss a relationship with the one who loves you more than you can imagine, and wants you with Him in Heaven for eternity.

GOD HATES VIOLENCE

GOD HATES VIOLENCE: He destroyed the world the first time with a flood due to violence. There's far more now and all over the world. America is a country where violent acts occur with such frequency we don't get upset anymore when we see it on TV. Muslims live and die with violence just as the Koran teaches. It isn't a "peaceful religion". We must pray for them; Jesus loves them like He does everyone
Our flesh being "sinful" is prone towards violence. Christians I know and respect would demonstrate it in a heart beat if pushed to the breaking point. We must die to this "old" nature and begin to live [in Jesus] who tells us to "turn the other cheek". I hope I can do it when pressed. Please pray for me. Be born again today....time is running out. Trust me Please.

NO JUSTIFICATION FOR SIN OUTSIDE OF GOD'S FORGIVENESS

Stop making excuses for breaking God's law, it won't "fly". We Christians [disciples] know instantly when we sin and should immediately use 1 John 1:9 for God's instant forgiveness. If we realized how much He loves us and how much our sinning hurts Him we can stop! Sinning is giving into temptations....Only "in Jesus" are we safe. Please pray for me.
Did you know Jesus said that angels will come one day to separate the sheep from the goats? Why did He choose these two aniimals? Look at their God given nature and you can see one is meek and follows along after his shepherd. The other must be driven by the goat "herder". Which one best describes you RIGHT NOW? Only Jesus can turn a goat into a sheep, He did that for me just over 40 years ago, I wish it had been over 60 years ago. Thank you Jesus. Please do it for those in need now.

CURSING CANCERS AND SAVING LIVES

God hates cancer like we do. He is a Loving God and proved it by allowing Jesus to be flailed by the Romans using a scourge. Few seem to preach on the scriptures in Isaiah 53 and First Peter 2, “By His stripes are we healed.“ Isn’t it time we start hearing of the Lord’s passion more than just on or around Easter? You bet, and when we do, there’ll be more testimonies of God’s healing of His children. Why do folks think God owes them anything including to heal them when they’ve rejected the gift of eternal life? I blame it on religion. Have you ever been to a funeral and where someone asked the folks to pray “The Lord’s Prayer”? I have, for few are saved. It’s responsible for keeping folks lost in their sins. If you doubt me read on.

There isn’t anyway God is going to adopt us and add us to His family until we repent of our sins and accept His forgiveness after confessing them. We aren’t saved by simply saying, “Save me Lord.” If we say it the Holy Spirit will begin the process. For instance, one criminal on his cross dying next to Jesus repented first. Jesus was listening to see if the other man would also repent [admit his guilt] but his heart was so hard he couldn’t.

I met folks in a jail ministry that would make granite look like a marshmallow. Some had killed and raped without remorse. Each time they committed a crime it was as if another layer of hardness was added. Did you know that most folks in jail are repeat offenders? Some have “rap sheets” a mile long. I will never say they couldn’t be saved for some have and I’ve met some people who would make a pirate look like a preacher.

All prisons are cancerous. Death is everywhere and in some cases inmates especially the older prisoners will go to “unmarked” graves with no one weeping for them. Did you know Jesus said, “When I was hungry, did you feed Me? When I was thirsty, did you give Me drink? When I was naked did you clothe Me? When I was sick or imprisoned, did you visit Me? When I was a stranger, did you invite Me in?” He asked these questions in Matthew 25 the most important chapter in the Bible in my opinion.

It’s vital we read, mark, learn and inwardly digest the Word of God for when we do Jesus can use us to curse cancers as if standing in our shoes. We must remember, Jesus came to bring life and He gave it to those who came to Him. Not everyone did for we see in the Scriptures the Sanhedrin condemned Jesus and asked Pontius Pilot to kill Him.

We must see that cancer is the work of the devil. He had infected the religious leaders with hate [all hate is a cancer] for the Savior of the World.

We need to confront hate when we see it or in some cases inside us. If you’ve ever met someone filled with hate you can see the devil. If hate is left unchecked it can lead to murder. Do you remember Cain killing Able?

There is only one cure for hate and that’s a surrendered life to Christ. Jesus loves unconditionally and once He’s inside us we can’t hate folks anymore. I had great reason to hate the murderers who blew my brother to bits with a bomb. Their hatefulness left his wife and four children without a dad who loved them and provided for them. For a very long time I harbored anger but when I surrendered my life to Christ it wasn’t long before I was asking the Lord to bring them to repentance.

What happened is the Bible became my food. I learned reading that God had said, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay.” I could see that any action I might take against them [I had an opportunity one day] would ruin my life.

They deserved hell, but I do too. My sins, even though no where as horrible as theirs, was more than enough for God to condemn and sentence me to a hell. Did you know even one sin is enough? “The wages of sin is death.”

Only one thing can remove our sins, the Blood of Jesus.“ God will not apply it to anyone until they come repentant to Him. If we should try any other way we will remain lost. Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life. He alone is the Door. Please come to Him today and avoid the cancers that can destroy you.

If you should be infected with cancer curse it in the Name of Jesus and rest while He removes it. Don’t wait until a doctor is operating on you. Please bless the Lord for doctors trained to treat cancers for some folks won’t come to the Lord repentant. Let’s tell them about Jesus today, OK?

MORTALS AND IMMORTALS

Folks, I hate to tell you this but if Jesus tarries all of us will one day die a physical death. Most don’t care to think about it much less talk about the time when their family and loved ones grieve over their passing. Well lets be mature for a moment and accept the fact it’s coming to us and we can prepare for it. Some do this by buying insurance policies that can “protect” the family. Or, will seek an attorney to get their house in order with a will or other legal papers to protect and direct the disbursements they have acquired. All of these things are good and admirable but they all pale in comparison to getting themselves ready to face Jesus.

There isn’t anything more hurtful to us than to be ensnared by religion. I define it as “man made laws and rules”. The one true religion in my opinion is Judaism. It’s a religion but one instituted by God Himself. If you’re familiar with the Old Testament you can see how He did it. Basically He chose a man who believed Him. Abram was sent to see the land where His descendants would later replace the folks living there. Today we call it Israel. God gave Moses the Commandments for living in a right relationship with Himself and with man. They were so good He chipped them in stone for them. The problem came later on when men, the religious leaders, added thousands of rules to the basic 10.

With all this said please allow me to help you escape from religion, and trust me, we all have some of it inside us. There is only one way to do it and that’s to be born again of the Spirit of Jesus Christ. Once we receive Him by faith our relationship with God changes instantly. Instead of being viewed as sinners deserving death [the wages of sin is death] He gives us His Spirit. Jesus said it best when speaking to Mary and Martha at the death of their brother Lazarus. As they grieved at the grave site Jesus revealed a great truth. “I Am the Resurrection and the Life. He who believes in Me, even if he die yet shall he live. Whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die.”

All at once we become immortals or those who will live in God’s presence forever. Those who refuse to repent and surrender to the Lordship of Jesus will die twice. God calls the people cast into hell having another death. Think about it, can anyone trapped forever in a lake of fire be “living”? I don’t think so. It’s the reason I work daily to try and reveal Jesus so He can save the lost. I’ve tried to save folks for a very long time and haven’t saved one yet. He can do it in a single heart beat. When we are saved by Him, angels rejoice in Heaven. The worse we are the Bible says, the greater is the rejoicing. I’m approaching my 73rd birthday in July. I’ve met folks so bad that I wouldn’t want to pour water on them if they were on fire but Jesus saved them when they repented. This blows my mind until I remember just how bad I was myself. Don’t ask me to tell you my sinful past for I won’t. God not only forgave me on May 23rd in 1971 but had the record of my sins erased from The Books to be opened on Judgment Day. He then took the blackness of the erasure and cast it away as far as “east is from the west”. Then to top that off He said, “I will remember these sins no more.“

Do you know He is doing that as I write? All over the world folks are coming under conviction of their sins and are repenting. I can see angels in constant worship of God for His Mercy. Most of us know it as Amazing Grace. If you’ve received it you know exactly what I mean. If you haven’t “yet” I believe you are a mortal and in “mortal danger“.

For nearly 33 years I was very active in my church, but trust me again, I didn’t know Jesus and He didn’t know me “intimately”. When we become “born again“ it changes our relationship like a man “knowing” his wife on their honeymoon. When Jesus entered my heart I “experienced“ a release of guilt and was filled with joy. Never had I felt so good in my life. That same night He baptized me in His Holy Spirit and I haven‘t stopped witnessing since then.

Will you live in Heaven with the Lord? No one can help you make the decision. Just take Him at His Word. He loves you as much as anyone on the earth. He died for you painfully with your sins upon Him. It boils down to how do you feel about it? Do you care? Do you really care? If you do tell Him. Turn from your sinful lifestyle and receive Jesus inside you by faith. Once you’ve done this it is now your responsibility to tell others so they too can become one of the Lord’s immortals. Will you do it?

A TRAIN LOAD OF EXPLOSIVES

During WW 11 I was a youngster living south of Eglin AFB here in NW Florida. My boat captain dad had the honor to carry some of Jimmy Doolittle’s flight crews fishing while they prepared for the mission that brought them fame and the undying love of Americans. Their strike against Japan from a small aircraft carrier in B-25 bombers may have been the most daring of the war. We who lived through that time and afterwards have seen many movies and news cast replays that demonstrated the bravery and outstanding patriotism of our men and women who dared to resist evil that was abounding everywhere.

One captivating scene was to see a pilot, of perhaps a P-51 Mustang, strafe a train with his 50 caliber machine guns blazing. As the incendiary rounds landed the high explosive ammo within the cars created a huge explosion flinging debris high into the sky where the pilot must fly. He must have survived for the gun cameras recording it were later unloaded and the film developed for us to see. God was surely with him as He definitely was with the Doolittle Raiders. Some of them were lost during their dangerous missions but many survived against terrible odds. Until the Lord comes we must remember their sacrifices as they paid a huge price for us to live free here in America. I thank every person in uniform I see for their service.

The Bible is more than an accurate history book, it’s the Living Word of God. Like the train described above it is explosive and when we penetrate it, it will explode in us and fling us upward towards God. This neat illustration was given to me as I lay in my bed meditating upon God’s love for me and my family. Of course He loves everyone and proved it by allowing every sin committed, even those that still will be to be plastered like filth upon Jesus as He died for us.

If you don’t understand anything else please grasp this, you’re not too bad for Jesus to save your soul. He came to do that, and when you go to the cross, you’ll always find Him near to help you gain your freedom. Jesus sets us free from a sinful life to live a brand new one by giving us faith to not only believe in Him but to “receive” Him inside of us. “The mystery hidden from the ages is Christ within you the hope of Glory“ was written by Paul for all of mankind. There’s a danger, you may not do the receiving part by a deceptive belief that religion can save you. There’s nothing we can do to save ourselves except one thing, surrender to Jesus. This means we take our will [our precious will] and surrender it to Jesus our Lord God who is Emmanuel. Many have missed this and believe all kinds of things which can not lead them to freedom, keeping them enslaved.

As a boat captain I needed to know many things to receive my license. This included extras like first aid with CPR, safe navigational skills, the rules of the road, weather and many more. I couldn’t just go aboard the boat and invite folks to come along unless I wasn’t charging them. This wasn’t possible for Emmanuel cost over $500,000 and was owned mostly by my bank and the Lord. The operating expenses were huge making the financial side of the business a headache most of the time. I figured out that my pay was to share Jesus with my customers. I loved it and they obviously loved receiving His love. Many wouldn’t board without a hug. I miss them a lot.

I got up an hour earlier each day to put some rounds in “that train” where reading 10 chapters was common. The Holy Spirit was always waiting at the table and opened my eyes to see the Truth in God’s Word. Some 35 years later I still meet with Him but now at my recliner, old folks need more comfort.

I invite everyone to try the Amplified Bible if you aren’t reading your Bible daily. My daughter Athena gave me one after my New American Standard version was misplaced during a move. At first I was stubborn and wouldn’t read it, but as my hunger grew I opened the pages and was thrilled. It was as if a great Bible teacher was opening the verses for me. I used her gift for 14 years. I recently purchased a new one with large print making my daily devotions with the Lord easier on my eyes. Buy one, you’ll love it!

WHY DOES GOD LOVE US?

You may be the meanest person you know and have done things that you are so ashamed of but trust me in this, God never stopped loving you. He is Agape or unconditional love. He created you from the “ingredients” supplied from your mom and dad. When they united He began to knit you together in her womb and the first thing He told you was, I LOVE YOU! He didn’t whisper it either. With great joy He embraced you in His love and gave you everything you needed to survive outside the womb. While in there He watched over you as you began to come to the image of God Himself.

Even if your parents wanted you with all their hearts and even prayed long and hard for you to arrive you were always God’s idea. Hold on to this truth so the world can not steal you from Him. As you know by now Satan runs this world and we are like pawns between him and God the Lord. Satan will use every trick in the book to deceive you. He is a liar, thief, murderer and accuser who wants you dead. He has been very successful and the vast majority of people born have died and are facing judgment. I can make you a promise you won’t be with them if you care to believe Jesus came to die for you. When you fall in love with Him and receive Him into your heart [life] you have become an immortal. His Life in you is eternal and now you are too.

There is a cost that I’ve discovered. First and most important we must give up this life to have His. No one can live two lives with God. Many try and fail for Jesus can’t be your Lord until He is inside you. You can try and follow Him but you will fail over and over until you must give up. Jesus doesn’t come to us to argue. He is Emmanuel or GOD WITH US. Until we understand this we will be subject to every religious spirit that comes our way. In Romans 8 God tells us, “The sons of God are those who follow the Spirit of God.“ From experience permit me to tell you, until He is the Lord of your life you can’t follow Him.

The Word of God tells us that God doesn’t share His Glory with anyone. He is Almighty God and millions and millions of angels are at the Throne worshipping Him all the time. He isn’t someone to ignore or dismiss as “The man upstairs.” He has also told us that He won’t strive with man forever. He has a plan for everything and this includes our life but He will not force us to love Him which really means “obey Him”.


Hopefully with this settled allow me to tell you something that most Christians don’t know. God has a divine plan for your life and it is beyond your wildest imagination in scope. God loves us so much He allows us to do the things He can do by simply speaking them. He wants us to be just like Jesus as strange as that may sound. If that is in your heart too then there is a time coming when He will say to you, “Well done my good and faithful servant, enter now into the joy of your Master.“ Matthew 25

His love grows and grows for us as we walk in obedience with Him. Do you recall how He said, “David is a man after my own heart for he wants to do my will”? You may recall God had David anointed by the prophet Samuel so that God’s power would rest upon him. When Goliath stood there cursing David he was also cursing the Lord. When the stone left the sling it went right between his eyes knocking him to the ground. God didn’t need David to knock him down but he was lifting David up before the whole army of Israel. When David took Goliath’s sword and took off his head it was for our benefit. The devil is God’s enemy and with the sword of the Holy Spirit [the scriptures] we can also take down Satan.

God loves us so much we have a written record of His will in the Bible. In America we have millions that have never been opened. Until we open ours and begin to feast upon it we can not inwardly digest it. Once inside us the mighty things of God are not only possible but a sure thing. I have some testimonies to back this up. Will you allow God to use you? If you will then go to the Bible for instructions. As you do the Love of God will come over and within you to flow out like a river of life to a world that needs a refreshing drink of Jesus. Will you do it? If you won’t, prepare to give God a very good reason why you didn’t. He will still love you but I’m not sure he will be real happy. Let’s live daily to make Him smile at us. OK?

ARE YOU LIVING IN GOD’S FAVOR
If you aren’t and you are a born again child of God today can be your day. Years ago I learned how powerful the word FAVOR was when I prayed. Many times I would ask God for favor and within minutes my request was answered. When Joan and I went to Alaska, a place I had dreamed of going for a very long time, we used the word constantly and were amazed how our Heavenly Father responded so quickly.
Perhaps it was due to a daily commitment He led me to make decades ago. Ephesians 2:10 is the best verse in the Bible for doing it. He tells us that He plans our walk with Him. He prepares works “in advance” that we are to do. This verse in the form of a prayer will do wonders for any child of God. Jesus said, “If you abide in Me and My Words abide in you then ask and it shall be done for you.” I flat out love the word shall for it is definite.
Have you discovered the Lord doesn’t play around? I find Him to be extremely serious about bringing the lost to Himself. I would be too if I had given my only son to die for it. God loves us so much and many still need to know it. We are His mouth pieces here and should be telling others how we found freedom from a sinful life. Many Christians seem to live as if nothing happened to them when they “got saved”. I must wonder if they became New Creations or just received another dose of religion.
Salvation isn’t fire insurance like many want. It is an intimacy far beyond what even we who have experienced know. If we truly understood what God has given to us, we would be that city shining on a hill. We would be the salt of the earth and from our bellies would flow Living Water. I’m not speaking of every now and then but all the time. If you are a lover of God and still lacking the new birth experience tell God you want His favor.
John 1:12 was given to me long ago and I memorized it. “To as many as those who receive Him [Jesus] to them gave He the power [authority] to become the children of God, even those who believe in His Name [Jesus].
For at least a month I only wanted to share this verse for it opened my eyes as never before. I knew I had to believe in Jesus to be saved but clearly didn’t understand receiving. I do now and believe we do this by inhaling His Spirit by faith. Think about it, why did Jesus breathe on his disciples after they believed it was Him and not a ghost after His Resurrection? They began to receive His favor.
In James we are told that when we ask with wrong motives we will not receive our requests. This is something we should realize when we are praying. God’s plan for us is always far superior to anything we could want or desire. He sees all the way to the end of the age and the beginning of eternity for His children.
Actually we are living in our eternal life now. Jesus said, “I Am the Resurrection and the Life. He who believes in Me, even if he die yet shall he live. Whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die.” Does this describe you? Of course you believe in Him or you wouldn’t have read this far. But are you living in Him? You are if you are born again but perhaps you aren’t yet. It was almost 33 years before I surrendered my life and I know the difference. Do not let anyone tell you it isn’t an experience. Ask those who are born again and see what they tell you. Some laughed themselves silly and some like myself, cried like a baby.
Perhaps the difference stems from the measure of sins acquired. I'm ashamed to say I had a ton of them. When the Lord washed me in His Blood it was easily the greatest time in my life. Never before had I felt such love and release of guilt. He took it from me and He will take anyone else’s who is willing to die to their old life [repent]. The result is we don’t want to do the things that brought us shame. We were now looking for others who are like us. The Holy Spirit will make sure we find each other.
God has a great plan for mankind and we can take it to them, or we can sit back and allow others to do it. The reward given to those who labor in the fields “white for harvest” is beyond calculation. We aren’t earning our salvation but the job in Heaven where we will serve God forever.
I love Him too much to sit on my rear while masses are dying daily without Jesus. I want His favor and tons of it for God has my life planned perfectly. He has yours too. Will you join with those who love God enough to serve?

GOD AND THE FATHER LODE

Every prospector who risked his life in the wild and dangerous areas of the world had a single goal, to find gold, silver or other precious metals and become rich. History tells us only a few ever did but they all held to a confidence they were only a shovel or pick axe away from the “mother lode”. They reasoned that when they found it, they would be fixed for life and would never have to spend another day seeking riches. The sad thing is many who found their “pot of gold” ended up wasting it on women and strong drink. Some lost everything to card sharks and con artists.

The message here is for those who are seeking riches beyond their wildest dreams, and it exists. God has prepared a city for us where the very streets are paved with pure gold. We don’t have to labor to have our place within it for Jesus took our sins to Calvary where He hung on a rugged cross dying for us in order to make us rich. His Blood spilling from His wounds were the full payment for the sins of the whole world. Your sins and mine were heaped upon Him as He became sin for us. How we respond to this Truth determines where we will go at our death.

Let me assure you, no church or religion can give it to you. This may sound strange but the Truth is, only Jesus is Life. He is eternal Life. He is the Father Lode we must discover and to cling. There’s an interesting verse that always helps me to stay on course and it will help you too. “I Am the Resurrection and the Life. He who believes in Me, even if he die, yet shall he live. Whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die.”

When Jesus spoke these words he was standing just outside the tomb where Lazarus had been buried four days earlier. When He told them to remove the stone blocking the entrance Martha objected, But Lord, he stinks now. Jesus knew better, and when it was removed, He said “Lazarus, come forth.” When he did, there was a gasp from the onlookers as he walked out still wrapped in the burial linens. Jesus said, Remove the cloth and free him.

Lazarus wasn’t the only one to be raised by Jesus. He raised up the daughter of Jarus, the leader of the synagogue. What’s interesting, the “professional” mourners were laughing at Jesus until this “dead” girl came walking out of the room. Then there is the raising of the widow’s only son, as he was being carried to the cemetery. It is my favorites because the Bible says, Jesus was moved by compassion. When he stopped the procession and gave back this mom’s son He gave her the only “old age security” she had.

How about you, are you compassionate? If you are, I suspect you know Him or you are very close to knowing Him. This is the Eureka discovery of all riches, coming to know Jesus. For nearly 33 years I knew about Him but had never surrendered my life completely to Him. This kept me on the trail but I wasn’t in fellowship. By amazing grace I found Him on May 23rd in 1971 and it became my second birthday. Thank you Lord!

Do you want the Father Lode? Please don’t say you have it until you can give a testimony of being born again. Many don’t like this term for they don’t understand it. You can’t have Him inside you until you are dead inside to your own will. No one can live two lives. Consider this, Judas lived very close to Jesus for about 3 years eating what He ate, sleeping where he slept, listening to the teachings and never came to know Jesus. His lack of trust and obedience in the end caused him to betray Jesus.

Did you know that in the end times many will deny Jesus? Jesus warned us and said, “He who denies me before man, in this sinful and adulterous generation, in no way will I acknowledge him before the Father and His holy angels.” Do you believe Him? Are you witnessing as to why you love Jesus? Do you recall the two great commandments? We are to love the Lord our God with all of our hearts, souls, minds and strength. And equal to it, to love our neighbors as we love ourselves. Folks, the love He demands is material. Please read Matthew 25 today and you can see it.

God has shown me His love is a verb or action word. When we truly understand this, we’ve struck the Father Lode. He said, “Give and it shall be given to you packed down even spilling out of your cup into your lap.” God loves through us and no one else. Are you His child? Are you a giver? If you are, prepare to dance upon the streets of gold in the New Jerusalem. Angels will move out of our way as we celebrate Jesus forever and ever with shouts of joy and praise. I can’t wait! Maranatha! [Come quickly Lord Jesus.]

WHEN ALIVE ISN’T LIVING AND DEAD ISN’T DYING

My good friend Greg O’neal asked us to pray for his mom who is in the ICU. I did and continue to uplift her to the Great Physician. This morning while at the gym the Lord spoke again to me about eternal life. His mother is alive but not really living with all the tubes and medical gadgets attached to her. She is “hanging in there” while the Lord uses the finest medical team in her world to keep her going. Greg is a great evangelist who has taken the Good News to many countries where thousands have received the assurance of eternal life. He knows his mom is “safe” but only Jesus knows she’s saved. He’s lived the life of Jesus before her as well as “preached” it as well. Surely she has made her peace with God who loves her.

How about you? Do you have the assurance that if you were to die today you would spend eternity with the Lord in Heaven? Either you do or you don’t. Either way, this message is for you. If you are alive in Jesus you can’t die. Jesus said this while standing at the grave of Lazarus. Then He raised him to life while the throng gathered there, gasped. Jesus Christ is God and has made promises that we must hold onto in order to be with Lazarus, and others who placed their full trust in Him. If you tell me you have done that, please don’t be offended if I ask you to prove it. If you have you will take delight in my challenge. If you have only partially placed your trust in Jesus, you’ll want to argue with me.

How do I know this? Simple, I’m always presenting Jesus to somebody. Those who have Him light up like a bulb. It’s as if I clicked a switch inside them and they begin to glow. Why, once they were the walking dead but now they are eternally alive in Him and know it. Salvation isn’t us stating some “facts” about Jesus. If you think so, please continue to read and see that our faith in Jesus is just the key to life. Once we say we believe in Him we should remember the devil does too. We must believe that His death on the cross was our death and His resurrection was ours before we can really make the eternal connection by being born again. Salvation is the result of our willingness to die to our will and surrender to Jesus Christ who is Lord. I will not argue with anyone on this for it would be a waste of my time.

Religion has overtaken the Good News and because of it, billions are now enslaved by rules and regulations not directed by the Holy Spirit. If you’ve submitted to them, I fear for you. You must break free and see Jesus dying for you personally and appeal to Him for His forgiveness.

It’s between you and Him. Think of a marriage, isn’t it between the man and his wife? Their union isn’t between them and their “family tree” of relatives. Having said that, allow me to say, Jesus adds us to the Body of Christ at our being born again of His Spirit. Do you understand that His Holy Spirit comes inside us when we’re Saved? It’s He who binds us to other born again Christians. His Body is world wide, not in a building or even a denomination. When I was young I was told by a priest in the Catholic Church, if I wasn’t a Catholic I’d go to hell. With many tears I told him that I was an Episcopalian and I was going to heaven. He believed his position and I definitely believed mine but we were both wrong.

Jesus didn’t go into all the world and make Catholics and Episcopalians, Baptist or any other denomination. No, He said go into to all the world and make disciples. Now lets let some rubber hit the road, are you a disciple? I wasn’t until I was almost 33. I could hold my own with anyone who wanted to compare our labors in our church fellowship. There wasn’t much I hadn’t done or would be willing if asked. The problem, as I learned later my service was always on my terms, and not God’s.

This changed after my wife met Jesus in 1971. Six weeks or so later I met Him in my pastor’s office. This “experience” is still with me. That night the Holy Spirit came to my bed where I lay praying. He covered me from my tip toes to my head with His power to witness. I haven’t stopped as you can see reading this message. You can also receive the same power by reading Luke 3:16, understanding what is being said and then asking the Lord to come upon you so you can be a witness too. If you love Him and are afraid to tell others why, this may be the reason. You have been trying to do it in your power and not His.

Once you‘re engaged with the Lord nothing is better. You can see He’s using you to bring dead folks to life; where their life will never end, even if they should experience a physical death. Sound exciting? You bet and you can start right now. Jesus hangs out at the cross. Go and tell Him how you feel about Him dying for you. Ask Him to forgive you, then ask Him to save your soul. He Will!

UNDERSTANDING ETERNAL LIFE

If everyone understood what it means there would be such a desire nothing else would really matter until it was secured. The Bible is our source for TRUTH because Jesus said it through those who penned it. It is His Written Word. Fail to grasp this and you will never experience eternal life and the freedoms that come with it. Jesus came to set an enslaved people free. We can see in the scriptures the freeing of the Israelites by Moses when the Lord sent him to do it.

One of the greatest motion picture films of all times was The Ten Commandments. You may remember Charlton Heston in the role. He would approach Pharaoh and say with much authority, “SET MY PEOPLE FREE“. Today all those not yet born again are as enslaved as Israel’s descendents. Jesus said all those who sin are slaves to it. You can argue with me if you like but aren’t those using drugs enslaved? How about those caught up in pornography? There are crime rings that are devoted to stealing everything they can get their hands upon. Even the local burglar ring is ready for their next “heist”.

Those who read this message may think it doesn’t apply to them, but we should remember some other words by Jesus like, “those who lust after a woman are as guilty as if they committed the act.” Or, those who judge others are sinning, for judgment belongs to the Lord. He said judge according to how you want to be judged. How does He know if I’m doing that? I’ll let you in on a little secret, angels are watching and recording our sins for JUDGMENT DAY. Do you know all the things you thought were secret will be revealed before the whole world? If you didn’t you do now. So, what should you do? Go to the Cross and see Jesus paying for them. As He was dying on it the sins of the whole world were heaped upon Him. Mine and yours were there bringing such shame and suffering.

God the Father was overwhelmed by the stench and turned away. Jesus knew it and cried out, “My God, My God why have you forsaken Me?” At His cry the Father gazed back upon His Only Begotten whom He had sent to die for us. You might say, “Why would He do such a thing?” There is only one reason, God loves you and me and everyone else too. He sent Jesus to rescue us from a lifestyle of sinning, to set us FREE. We are no longer under the bondage of sin when we give up the sinful life. This comes by repentance or telling God how we feel about our past and our desire to go the other way.

In my case, tears were flowing like a spring. I had so much to repent for, I was “bad”. When I asked Him to forgive me and He did. He gave me HIS SPIRIT as proof. When I asked Jesus to come into my life I experienced a release that I can still remember 39 years later. It was as if a heavy weight left my back. When the Lord came in me I experienced a JOY that has never left. Some tell me they haven’t experienced anything like it. I can’t argue with another man’s experiences for that’s between him and the Lord, but I’m truly grateful for mine. I’d came from a liturgical background where I was taught how to say all the right things but my life hadn’t changed, but it sure did on May 23rd in 1971.

After becoming “born again” God revealed part of His plan for my life through dreams. After one vivid dream I began serving Him at the county jail where He sent me to “set the captives free.“ One day as I walked in the woods hunting He told me, “Tell them I want to set them free but unless I I set them free in their hearts they will continue to be behind the iron bars.“

What He said is true, for those who refuse to surrender to the Lord continue to be slaves to crime and the iron bars of jails and prisons. One man who listened paid for his crimes and then came out to study in a Bible College in Pensacola. He invited me to his graduation where God launched him into a full time prison ministry. Reconciled Ministries have been ongoing for a very long time now. Jim Britnell has been extremely effective, somewhat like a modern day Moses.

We must be set free to become God’s servants which will continue forever. Do you want to know true freedom? It comes when we confess Jesus as our Lord and discipline our lives to obey Him, like we learn in John 3:36.

And he who believes in (has faith in, clings to, relies on) the Son has (now possesses) eternal life. But whoever disobeys (is unbelieving toward, refuses to trust in, disregards, is not subject to) the Son will never see (experience) life, but [instead] the wrath of God abides on him. [God's displeasure remains on him; His indignation hangs over him continually.] Amplified Bible

Is this what you want? It’s free but only at the cost of Jesus’ death for us.

HEAVEN‘S LANGUAGE AND OURS

HEAVEN‘S LANGUAGE AND OURS

Do you use “bad words”? Would you say them if you were looking at Jesus? If the answers are yes and no this message is for you. I hate to admit my past behavior but I came from a four year stint in a Military Academy where ugly language was often the norm, I conformed to it.

When I arrived at FSU I found the language used in a men’s dorm horrible, making the words at the Academy mild in comparison. Sadly, I conformed again to fit in. I can’t tell you how much I hate now that I did. Filthy language always makes us dirty and unaccepted with good people. Let me add, I never used this “second” language around a female, smart me.

My Joan, whom I met there, soon separated me from the ugly words by her sweet spirit. She was, and is now, a devoted Christian who honors the Lord by how she lives. Where “bad company corrupts good morals” her innate goodness accomplished the opposite for me. It wasn’t long before the Lord brought me to where I hated curse words even more. I would never allow anyone to use them in her presence.

When Christians use stinky profane language he or she isn’t making the Lord look good. I’d hope they would stop calling themselves a Christian for I don’t believe they really are. Paul was right when he said, “The mystery hidden from the ages is Christ within you the hope of glory.” He couldn’t say this until after he was born again and neither can we. Are you born again? Be honest for it’s important.

Some major denominations, including the largest, doesn’t teach or preach these words of Jesus. He said we must be born again in John 3. Did you know He said we can’t enter into the Kingdom of Heaven if we aren’t? If you didn’t know it before, you do now.

Also, in First John 5 He tells us that those who have Him, have eternal life and those who don’t have Him, don’t have eternal life. Since death is like a flying bullet don’t you think we should take all of His Words seriously? You bet, and today is the day of salvation for countless thousands who have ears to hear. Can you imagine Jesus using foul language? Jesus always represented His Father well and we should too, don’t you think?

What if you’re well versed in Satan’s language and it comes out “automatically”? What should you do? Tell Jesus how ashamed you are and ask Him to save you. This is called repentance, or changing your mind for the Lord. Few seem to realize, once we surrender to Jesus as Lord, He commits to saving us on Judgment Day. Did you know you will be judged? I bet you didn’t know Christians will stand before the Lord and give an accounting. At this time the Lord will reward us for our obedience, and we will also have to give an accounting for our words. I don’t know about you but this isn’t comforting to me. Thank you Jesus for your Blood.

Here’s the secret to a clean mouth. Turn your prayers into praise. Read the psalms and use them when you can. I love Psalm 100 the most for it tells me how the Lord loves for us to approach Him. Once we start, we’ll find His presence upon us. When you can feel Him, I guarantee you a “clean” mouth. Think about it, if Jesus was standing a few feet away would use profanity? Of course not, and we shouldn’t when He is even closer, in our hearts by His Holy Spirit. We must never forget who we are once we’ve repented and received Jesus as our Lord. John 1:12

Did you know God has appointed us as Ambassadors? We’ve been authorized to use the Name of Jesus in setting captives free. Everyone enslaved with sin, sickness, disease and hateful living can be released by the Name of Jesus. Read Acts chapter one and you can see Peter and John releasing a cripple. This man soon had them in trouble for he went into the Temple leaping and praising God. How could he not, having been crippled from birth? It was Peter and John’s faith in the Name of Jesus that freed Him. Do you have that faith too? If you do, it’s a gift from God, use it.

I’m using one of my gifts writing this message for you. Can you find a word in it that wouldn’t be welcome in Heaven? Of course not! Let’s begin to speak as if we‘re already there, OK? Isn’t Jesus listening and aren’t His angels recording our words? You betcha!

I don’t know about you but I long to go to my Heavenly home. I can see in Hebrews 11 God says He is ashamed of those who don’t want to live there. If you haven’t read this chapter you should for it’s called the Faith chapter. You will see God lists the name of some of His “hero’s”. It also contains one of my favorite verses. “For without faith man can not please God for we must believe that HE IS and that HE IS a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.” Do you seek God? If you don’t please begin now. He loves you “unconditionally” which means your past is insignificant to Him if you surrender your life to Jesus. If you refuse you will face all the sins He was willing to forgive. All of them are recorded in the BOOKS.

One of the most difficult things we will all face is the “loss” of a family member or loved one. When my dad left suddenly with a massive coronary in 1970 I was crushed. My dad and I couldn’t have been closer and the sudden loss of His love was almost too much. At his funeral service God spoke to me through these words, “I Am the Resurrection and the Life. He who believes in Me even if he die, yet shall he live. Whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die.” It was if there was a click in my heart for I knew my daddy was now with Jesus. Since this experience I’ve wanted to go too.

I began to pray for my mom for she wanted to go so badly she actually became down right “mad” at God. I told her, Mother you can’t be mad at God. She said, “I can and I am.” For six months she was estranged from Him. Slowly she began to recover from the shock of seeing him fall right before her while they sat in a restaurant. Plus, she knew what I did, Daddy loved God the way all of us should. The Lord always came first with Him. I could list a lot of things he did in obedience to the Holy Spirit but just trust me the list would be long and impressive. His works didn’t save him but defined him just as our works will do for us.

God led me to begin to pray for my mom with these words, “Lord, please don’t let Mother die until the very second you planned when You created her, not one second early and not one second late. He was faithful to His promise and He told me I would be holding her hand when “I take her”. He entered her hospital room in 1995 and gently lifted her up to Himself as I was holding her hand, right on time. Since then I’ve asked the same thing for my wife, daughters, grandchildren and now great grandchildren. I’m confident He has heard me and when we’re done “up we’ll go.“

Do you have the same confidence in the Lord? It’s so important that you answer honestly for it reveals your relationship with Jesus. There are millions sitting in church buildings every Sunday that are “Christians” but not born again. If you aren’t now, I can’t over stress how important you become one of God’s children right now. The instant you surrender your all God will have your name enrolled in the small Book of Life. The Bible tells us these are the ones who will actually live in Heaven.

Please allow me to encourage you to read Matthew 25 and First John. These 6 chapters will make a huge difference in your life if you’ll prayerfully read them. It’s so important that you ask the Holy Spirit to help you for the “Word of God” is spiritually discerned. Untold millions read it without His help and find it’s like eating food without nutrients. I read my Amplified Bible early in the mornings considering it my spiritual breakfast. It’s also the time I lift up to God a whole bunch of folks for whom I’ve promised to pray. I sure hope they are doing the same for me. Jesus said, “You can do nothing apart from Me.” If you’ve been struggling perhaps you have been working on your own.

Please just commit your life daily using Ephesians 2:10 for a new and very rewarding experience. For 35 years I’ve been doing it and wouldn’t stop for it’s where God has hidden His joy. Go for it.

Unless we can agree that the Holy Bible is the Word of God there isn’t any reason for some one involved in abnormal sexual activity to continue reading this message. It isn’t a “hate piece” but an attempt to reach those who are being led to “experiment” or check out sex outside of marriage. All sex outside of marriage is not approved of by God. Did you know He calls sexual intercourse by unmarried folks fornication and outside of one’s marriage vows adultery. You may recall that adultery is one of His Big Ten.

Homosexuality isn’t a new phenomena. From history we have learned that the ancient Greeks and Romans among others were caught up in it. It is a terrible thing in God’s sight and the penalty will fit the sin. I believe AIDS [acquired immune deficiency syndrome] can be directly related to unclean sexual activity. This grieves God who loves everyone the same and allowed Jesus to die for everybody’s sins so we won‘t be cast into hell. There seems to be a special clause in His grace for the Bible tells us he gives those who do these things over to a “depraved mind”. I understand this to mean a person can’t come back to reason for this sin is an “abomination” to God. [some say they have returned to normal but only He knows]

Watching them on TV I tend to believe it for they have become flagrant in their demands. Many even stage large marches that flaunt the Church. Haven’t we seen them in mock dress of priests and nuns? I feel they’ve almost declared war on God and His people. It makes me wonder if they ever studied biology in school. God knows what He’s doing and isn’t going to change His mind. Adam was given a woman named Eve by God and before long Cain and Able appeared through their union.

Do you believe this could have happened if God had given him a “partner” named Steve? Of course not, and two men or two women can’t produce a child either. What’s sad is they now want to marry and adopt children so they can teach them their repugnant life style. We can only pray this won’t happen. America is quickly becoming a decadent society and much suffering is on the way. Do you want to do something about it?

Go to the Lord in prayer and ask Him to use you. He has ways and means beyond our understanding that can slow down the devil’s victories in men’s and women’s lives. I believe we’ve already passed the tipping point and are headed towards judgment.

CHRISTIANITY ISN’T A POPULARITY CONTEST

We’d really be weird if we didn’t want folks to like us. Many try hard to make friends and are very successful. Some who try can’t even get a puppy to like them. After 39 years of serving the Lord, as good as I can, I’ve failed miserably in creating a large group of “friends”. Jesus warned us if we followed Him we would be persecuted. Reading the Bible we see this is true. Paul had some very close friends but far more enemies. Reading his letters to the Churches clearly bears this out. I suspect when we arrive in Heaven we will see he was greatly rewarded. How about you, do you have lots of friends? I hope you do, and all are working for Jesus.

Do you remember the story of the Prodigal? When he left home with a sizable fortune [half his dad’s wealth] he went to a foreign country where he had loads of friends until his money ran out. I suspect many are like that today. They’re desperate for love and when in a bar or restaurant buy everyone a round of drinks. For a few moments the claps on the back and the cheers that embrace him makes it seem the expenditure was worth it, but trust me, it was a waste. We have only One true friend and that’s Jesus.

Please don’t think I’m saying we can’t have friends for we all do. I have a tiny number that I can count on for anything at anytime. They truly love me and I love them too. They have shown me their affection by being there for me when I was truly hurting. They didn’t have compassion but empathy which means they actually hurt with me. I hope in your group there are some like these treasured souls.

Jesus is always with me for He’s in me. If you aren’t born again, He isn’t in you. Religion has taken the place of intimacy; I know for I was very religious until I melted before Him. Lets get the rubber on the road, have you experienced the New Birth? The Bible tells us we become a New Creation when we die to our old life and are filled with His. Has that happened to you? You aren’t answering to me but to the One who is having me write this message.

God loves everyone, actually He’s in love with us. He proved it by sending Jesus to the Cross to die. Had Jesus not shed His Blood on the cross not one person could be saved, not the Pope, Billy Graham, or even St. Paul. Please understand, our sins have condemned us to hell. Only the Blood of Jesus can wash us clean. God does this “after” we surrender our lives to Christ.

The vast majority of folks calling themselves Christians haven’t experienced salvation. If you don’t believe me, ask “Christians” you meet to share their testimony. When I do it I hear over and over, “My religion is personal“. Well I’m sure it is, but can it be the relationship with Jesus offered by God? I have to question it for part of the “deal” is we are to share our testimonies as led by the Holy Spirit. If this wasn’t true, why are you still here after being born again? The instant Jesus cleansed you with His Blood and entered your heart, you’re a citizen of Heaven. All those who refuse Jesus will be turned away. I don’t enjoy writing this, but it’s the TRUTH. Can you see why some folks don’t like me? They didn’t like Jesus either and He’s the TRUTH. He’s also the “only” WAY and the LIFE. If He isn’t in you consider yourself lost.

In Romans 6 you can read what Baptism is all about. The water is a grave and we are to be buried in it [hard to do if sprinkled]. When uplifted we breath air [Spirit] which can sustain life. The Holy Spirit is Eternal Life. Oxygen in our air supplies the main ingredient for physical life. Air without oxygen will cause death in short order. Christianity without the Holy Spirit will also kill you. “The wages of sin is death” and until we “receive Jesus we’re dead in God’s sight even when walking about. It’s like dead men and women walking and most don’t know it. This message can fix that.

God says, “Friendship with the world is enmity with Him.” If you’re in love with your possessions, are in pursuit of more, I hope you’ll go on your knees to God admitting it. Wealth isn’t sinful, as a matter of fact, we need extra wealth to help those whom the Lord shows us who are in need for we can’t give away what we don’t have. The Government does for we are being heavily taxed so the “rulers” in Congress can buy votes.

Jesus isn’t into buying your vote but winning your heart. He’s always there for you 24/7 and will be there to claim you on Judgment Day. You and I can get to make the choice. Will you become born again? If you haven’t do it now. Do you need help, please ask.

DEADLY MEDICINES

My Joan just returned with a bag full of new drugs after visiting her primary physician today. I told her she needs to pray over all that stuff. I tell that to everyone for there isn’t any place in the Bible where God tells us to medicate ourselves. If you know where He said it please tell me. In the Old Testament He gave “His People” the Jews some dietary laws which made good sense then and still do today. For instance, He says to only eat fish that have scales and fins. Do you know why? The others are scavengers [eaters of dead stuff] you know like sharks and catfish.

The fish He chose for them to eat are predators who chase down their prey. Now there are rules for not eating lions for they are predators but also eat carrion. If I recall He identified them as having paws. The bottom line is we are what we eat, health wise. If you eat healthy with lots of good vegetables and fresh fruits you’ll be stronger and more healthy too. His rules are in the book of Deuteronomy if you want to look them up. Most of us go for “taste” instead of what’s good for us. Like we want our water “fixed” with sugar, lemon, or various other ingredients when clear pure water would really be best for us.

Have you read the paper work they include with your pills? My goodness, the things that can happen to you are worse than what’s causing you to take the darn things. Now there are exceptions to every rule [except the Big Ten] and I would readily admit aspirin and sulfur drugs, like quinine, have proven to be life savers and I’m not writing about our careful use of them. What I’m saying is some of the drugs are very harmful like those used with patients having heart problems.

Many years ago when I was diagnosed with mild hypertension [running a deep sea fishing business can do that to you] I agreed to take a 50 mg tablet of antennol. I was told it was a “beta blocker” and I could never stop taking it. Had I been told earlier, I would have refused. At this time I take a half aspirin, an antennol and some Tylenol generics when I’m hurting. At 72 I find that some parts of me complain more often than they used to. Going to the gym has surely raised my quality of life for I’m much stronger physically.

My aunt Vera Walter used to say as she neared her 90s, “God lets us look like monkeys when we get old so we won’t mind dying.” She was a card!

May I offer you some suggestions so perhaps you can get off the chemicals your doctor has prescribed for you? First see if you’re drinking enough water. Many moons ago it was discovered that 8 glasses a day would keep the body functioning normally. Do you get enough rest? It may take some discipline to get off the computer or TV at night but an early to bed early to rise habit will be good for most folks. Do you eat healthy? Joan and I don’t as much as we should but with some effort this can change. I love to cook and have been looking up some ways to fix “greens” on the computer.

Probably most important if you are hooked on your prescriptions begin to pray they will do what the doctor intended when he prescribed them and in no way can they hurt you. Did you know some pills like antennol prevent me from taking pain medicines like Advil because they’ll conflict with each other. Lord only knows what is conflicting with the Tylenol generic. I try to also remember to pray over water for who but Him knows what’s in it? We know the City Water Department adds chemicals to kill bacteria and other bad things in the water. I suggest you add a Brita or Pur water purifier on your sink faucet too. Not only will the water taste better than expensive bottled water but they will remove other bad things that reaches your house.

One last thing, never claim an illness. The devil loves to hear Christians say how ill they are or what disease they are suffering with. Don’t we know from the scriptures that Jesus paid for all of them? “By His stripes are we healed, and also were we healed” are two extremely important verses. You can find them in Isaiah 53 and in First Peter 2. I’ve found that God wants me to agree with Him to obtain their benefits. In Psalm 103: 1-4 He tells everyone to not forget them.

Jesus loves us and has paid for our salvation, health and deliverance too. His painful wounds from the scourge obtained our healings. Shouldn’t we believe His Word and live in His victory? You bet we should, lets do it!
